Bicycle Safety Tips

  • Clip Art - BikeAlways obey traffic signs and signals, and be courteous to other traffic
  • Use proper hand signals when making turns, so other motorists know where you intend to go
  • Never ride against traffic, and always follow the lane markings (example: no left turn, right turn only, etc.)
  • You should never weave in and out, or between, traffic
  • Make eye contact with other motorists to assure that they see you
  • Avoid road hazards such as gravel, debris, sewer grates or pot holes
  • Allow extra stopping distance, and always keep a hand on the brake in case you need to make a sudden stop
  • ALWAYS wear a helmet for safety!!!
  • Water / Pool Safety Tips

  • Never mix swimming with drugs or alcohol, as these items can impair your judgment and coordination
  • Children should always be under adult supervision around any body of water…..NEVER leave a child unattended!!
  • Swimming pools should be enclosed with a fence, and all doors or fences leading to the pool area should be locked when no adult supervision is present
  • Always have lifesaving equipment near the pool (life vests, life ring, rope, etc.)
  • Family members and babysitters should be encouraged to take a CPR class
  • Children and family members should take swimming lessons
  • ALWAYS wear a proper personal flotation device, and NEVER swim alone
