Administration consists of the Chief's Office and the accreditation manager who oversees the department's compliance with CALEA.

Operations Division

The Operations Division consists of the Patrol Bureau, Investigations Bureau, and Code Enforcement. The Operations Division is commanded by Deputy Chief Gatz.

Top of PageSupport Services Division

The Support Services Division consists of the Community Services Bureau and the Staff Services Bureau. The Support Services Division is commanded by Deputy Chief Cortese.

Community Services Bureau

The Community Services Bureau consists of the Strategic Enforcement and Prevention Unit (S.E.P.) and the Social Services Unit.  The Strategic Enforcement and Prevention Unit is responsible for traffic enforcement operations, parking enforcement, crossing guards, and administrative hearing process.

Staff Services Bureau

The Staff Services Bureau provides the maintenance of a records system that collects crime data and records of operational activities; serves as the initial answering point for all incoming calls and visitors to the Police Department.

In addition to formal units, the department also has several teams which are comprised of officers from various units within the department.

Recruitment Team

The Recruitment Team actively recruits new officers year-round by attending college and other job fairs. In addition, team members assist the Human Resource Staff with the orientation and testing process of prospective Logo - Crisis Resolution Teamapplicants.

Crisis Resolution Team

The Crisis Resolution Team is utilized to execute search warrants and other emergency situations that arise in the village.

Honor GuardThe Honor Guard Team is used at formal village and department functions, funerals, and other events as requested.
 

Logo - Major Case Assistance TeamMajor Case Assistance Team

Hanover Park Police is a part of the Major Case Assistance Team which is comprised of officers and investigators from police agencies from the northwest part of Cook County. MCAT responds to serious crimes as requested by member agencies.
 

Top of PageDuPage County Major Crimes Task Force

Hanover Park Police is a part of the DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force which is comprised of officers and investigators from police agencies from the DuPage County. DCMCTF responds to serious crimes as requested by member agencies.
 

Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS)

Logo NIPASHanover Park is a member of NIPAS. NIPAS is a mutual aid organization that is comprised of police agencies from the northeast part of Illinois. NIPAS can provide additional manpower as needed by the member agency. In addition, NIPAS also has a Mobile Field Force which can be deployed for crowd control situations. NIPAS also has a SWAT team which is used for extreme emergency situations that arise in member towns. For more information, please visit NIPAS' website.
 

Top of PageIllinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS)

Logo - ILEASHanover Park is a member of ILEAS. ILEAS is a statewide version of NIPAS for mutual aid only. If an incident occurs that has a significant impact on any one town or geographic area, this system can be used to provide additional manpower that would normally be beyond the abilities of the member agency or agencies.
