- Be wary of scammers seeking personal information as they offer “help.”
- Talk with your landlord. Let them know any challenges you may be facing. If necessary, discuss rent term modifications and ask them to work with you to get through this together.
- Expand your social media presence so you can be found on-line through a Google Profile. Update information regularly on your profile including hours and specials of the day.
- If you don’t already have a web page, consider a web “landing page” for on-line ordering.
- Seek assistance from our Small Business Development Centers.
- Consider offering special hours for business restricted for seniors-only shopping.

- If you need to travel, the State Department of Public Health has posted guidance on international travel.
State Participation in the Federal Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program – Please help.The State Department of Commerce is collecting information from our small business owners and not-for-profit managers on COVID-19’s economic impact to aid the Governor in submitting to the SBA for an economic injury disaster declaration. The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million to overcome the temporary loss of revenue. To assist IDCEO and the SBA, small businesses and not-for-profits impacted by the Pandemic are encouraged to complete the COVID-19 Impact form. Filling out the form does NOT constitute application or request for an SBA loan. Your participation will provide an assessment of need for businesses. After an SBA declaration is made for designated areas within Illinois, information on the application process for Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance will be made available to all affected communities, businesses and not-for-profits. - SBA Resources - On March 12, the SBA announced that it will work with state governments to provide targeted, low-interest disaster recovery loans to small businesses severely impacted by the outbreak. Note: Customers may enter the premises to purchase food or beverages for carry-out. However, establishments offering food or beverages for carry-out, including food trucks, must ensure that they have an environment where patrons maintain adequate social distancing. Businesses located in airports, hospitals, and dining halls in colleges and universities are exempt from the requirements of this Executive Order. Hotel restaurants may continue to provide room service and carry-out. Catering services may continue." - Illinois Restaurant Association. The site includes information on the State Executive Order for “To-Go, Carry-out and Take-out;” links to other State agencies including the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, and a very thorough Best Practices document which discusses legal concerns relating to operations and human resources.
- National Restaurant Association – Up to date information on sanitation, worksite fact sheet posters, resources to prevent the spread, links to OSHA, the SBA, World Health Organization, and FDA Supply Chain concerns.
- Illinois Liquor Commission. Information such as guidance on the Governor’s Executive Order, Answers to Frequent Questions on on-site consumption, answers on returning products for St. Patrick’s Day Events,

- The Village will waive fees for temporary banners placed for the next 30 days if the content of the banner indicates how to order for pick-up/delivery. - Sandwich Boards- In order to help our businesses (especially restaurants) during this time of outbreak, the Village will allow businesses to have sandwich board signs to enable them to communicate specials, hours, delivery/pick-up methods, etc. with their customers. Please ensure the signs are well-designed, not placed within the public right-of-way, and taken inside at the end of each business day.

- The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has posted links to business resources (and will continue to add to the COVID-19 page)
· The Center for Disease Control COVID-19 website includes latest updates on policies, virus spread, travel restrictions, and resources for employers, faith-based leaders, and healthcare professionals.- DuPage County Health Department information sheets in English and Spanish, Mass Gathering Guidelines, Mitigation Strategies.
- The Cook County Health Department includes a variety of resources, links to other agencies, information for health care providers, families, communities, and up to date information on the spread of COVID-19.. Information sheets are available in English, Spanish, Polish, Arabic and simplified Chinese.
- Hanover Park Park District has closed all public facilities and canceled/postponed programs, events, rentals and spring break camps. Pending new developments, mandates and/or guidelines from Federal, State and County authorities, facilities might open on March 30, 2020. Information and updates are on the HPPD website.
- Bartlett Park District has closed facilities. Updated information is found here.
All Schools are closed per State Order through March 30, 2020 – Some Districts will be closed longer. School District web pages contain information on school return dates, meal service, at home e-learning, and community food assistance:Hanover Park is home to four different Townships.
