Mask Requirements Effective Today

New Statewide Guidelines and additional Resurgence Requirements for Region 7 Counties

The State announced today new guidelines for restaurants and bar establishments set as a courtesy to respect worker's health, and as a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19.  Each bar and restaurant customer is to wear a mask whenever interacting with staff. This means wearing a mask while ordering, receiving table service, and when picking up food for carry-out.

We are currently in Phase 4 of the State recovery plan which breaks the State into 11 regions.  The State monitors indicators which potentially signify a resurgence in the spread of the virus.  Hanover Park falls into 2 regions - the Cook County portion of our Village is in Region 10 and the DuPage County portion is in Region 8.

Also effective today more stringent measures are in place for "Region 7" which includes Will and Kankakee Counties.  These measures come as the 2 counties have experienced increasing coronavirus caseloads with more than 8% of those tested being positive for the virus in 3 consecutive days.  Resurgence mitigations for Region 7 include 11 PM closing time, no indoor service, and reduced capacities for social events and gatherings.

You can monitor the statistics by region, here.

Village Small Business Covid-19 Assistance Program

The Village of Hanover Park has expanded Outdoor seating options to include areas such as parking lots.   A building permit and review of your proposed site is required.   More information is here.

Over 60 businesses are using the free "We're Open" signs, A-Frame Signs which the Village offered to small independent businesses that were impacted by the pandemic shut-down.  An application is found online.

We also know that many businesses do not have an online presence with website and social media tools.  The Village Small Business Assistance Program includes small marketing grants to assist in creating an on-line presence.  More information is online.
