Hanover Park, Illinois- The Hanover Park Police Department announced it made 2 DUI arrests and issued nearly 200 citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period. Those tickets included 19 seat belt citations, 39 speeding citations, and 6 distracted driving tickets. Also included were 2 citations for illegal transportation of open alcohol and 21 citations for driving while license invalid/suspended or revoked.
“By keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone,” said Deputy Chief Terrence Sherrill.
The Hanover Park Police Department joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.
The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
