The Source Grow Grant
Cook County businesses eligible for $10,000 grants beginning Oct. 3rd
The Cook County Small Business Source Grow Grant is providing $10,000 grants to small businesses, coupled with advising and coaching services, to help in their recovery from the pandemic and to help scale their operations and thrive in Cook County. The grant will be given to a total of 2,550 businesses in Cook County.
To be eligible to apply, a business must meet the following criteria:
- Be a for-profit business located in Cook County, Illinois
- Have less than 20 employees
- Have operated and conducted business since March 2020 (prior to the COVID-19 pandemic)
- Have experienced a decrease in revenue or gross receipts, increased costs, or greater financial insecurity due to COVID
- All are welcome to apply regardless of resident or immigration status
Businesses that have previously applied or received other types of federal, state, county or city grants are also eligible to apply.
The Source Grow Grant is prioritizing these four business owner characteristics:- Historically excluded businesses (those owned by black/Latino/people of color, women, LGBQT, veterans, persons with a disability)
- Businesses in suburban Cook County
- Business in the hardest hit sectors (hotels & restaurants, arts & entertainment, childcare & social assistance, retail trade, and transportation & warehousing)
- Small businesses with less than 10 employees
Required Documentation (have ready at the time of application):- A valid photo I.D.
- A 2019 tax return (all pages)
- A W-9 (signed and dated)
Applications accepted beginning Monday, October 3 – October 31
Grants will be distributed in early 2023
