New Year, New Projects! The Public Works and Engineering team can't wait for the weather to warm up and construction season to begin. This year's projects, ranging from road resurfacing and watermain replacement to bike path upgrades, are a part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Village of Hanover Park safe and beautiful! Over the past few weeks, we have shared brief overviews of the 2026 bicycle and pedestrian improvement projects and what residents should keep an eye out for during the upcoming construction season. The map below highlights the locations of each project. This year, in addition to the Village’s annual sidewalk improvements, these projects will add or improve over 4 miles of bike/pedestrian infrastructure. The Village has received over $2.9 million in grant funding through the Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) for these improvements. Informational signage will also be installed along the improved bike paths. We look forward to starting construction in the Spring and will provide updates on our website www.hpil.org/1234/Current-Projects. As always, if residents have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Engineering Division at (630) 823-5700.
