Movie in the Park - Friday, June 19th Movies in the Park are back for the summer! We are kicking off the season with the movie, National Treasure, on June 19th in East Harbor Park! Be sure to bring your family and friends, along with lawn chairs and blankets. Games and activities start at 7:45 PM with the movie kicking off at dusk. There will be activities celebrating America's 250th Anniversary. The Village's Historic Committee will have a table with information about Hanover Park's history. Kona Ice will be selling treats!

Juneteenth Celebration - Saturday, June 20th The Hanover Park Sister Cities Committee and Friends of Sister Cities are pleased to host this year's Juneteenth Celebration! Join in the fun with live music, DJ, food, games, and more on June 20th at the Hanover Park Sports Complex from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Construction Updates2026 Resurfacing Update: This week, the contractor performed full-depth reclamation on Morton, Mallow, and Lawrence. They also began paving first layer of new asphalt. Center Avenue Sidewalk Update: The contractor has completed landscape restoration. Only minor punch list work remains. Lake Street Multi-Use Path Update: The contractor worked on the traffic signal updates for the multi-use path. They are also removing sidewalk for the new path. This project will include daily lane closures along Lake Street from Church Street/Metra Station to Turnberry Drive. Fiber Installation (Lumos/T-Mobile): Lumos/T-Mobile has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. These are not Village-run projects. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to Lumos’s Construction Hotline at 800-905-9017. Inspectional Services New Digital ServicesThe Hanover Fire Department Inspectional Services Division has enhanced its operations to provide a safe and convenient process for conducting business with the Village. All documents required to apply for building permits, contractor licenses, or business licenses can now be submitted digitally using our online forms. We will review your submittal, communicate any necessary information, and issue your permit or license digitally. We can also accept payments online and schedule any inspections needed by email. All email submittals and requests can be sent to iservices@hpil.org. A fully digital process means a more efficient review process and a safer transaction for everyone. Applying for a building permit, license or scheduling inspections has never been more convenient! Be Prepared for an Emergency: Learn CPR. Save a Life. In a cardiac emergency, every minute counts. CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. Protecting your family, your friends, and your community starts with being prepared. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training, which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim, and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Hanover Park Park District UpdateNext Tuesday, June 2nd, the Park District is hosting a Park Pop-Up at Heritage Park, 5540 Arlington Dr W. at 11:30AM. Families will have the opportunity to meet with local outreach organizations and learn about resources and programs available to the community. The Village will have a table too! There will be games, prizes, and cool treats to kick off summer break - we hope to see you there! Seafari Spring's Opening Day is June 6th. Join the Park District from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. 2026 season passes are now available for the water park. All visitors entering must either have a Seafari Springs Aquatic Center 2026 season pass or a daily ticket. Children under 13 must be accompanied by and supervised by a guardian 16 years old or older. For safety reasons, children cannot be left unattended on the pool deck. Family Storytime - June 3 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Start your morning off with stories, songs, flannels and fun. For children ages 0-5 with caregiver. Free Summer Meals - June 8 - August 7 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Stop by the library for a free, nutritious lunch. Meals are available to all children 18 and under, Mondays - Fridays, June 8 through August 7. The Library has partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to be a summer meals distribution site. The federal Summer Meals program requires that children eat their meals on site. Activities will be available for children to enjoy in the Library during meal distribution. Summer Meals are part of the Summer Food Service Program funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education.
