U.S. Small Business Disaster Loans Now AvailableOn July 4, 2026, the Village of Hanover Park experienced unprecedented torrential rainfall that exceeded 6 inches within a two-hour period. The U.S. Small Business Administration, who is responsible for administering Home Disaster Loans, have designated Kane County and all contiguous counties that include both Cook County and DuPage County to be eligible to receive assistance. This allows all affected Hanover Park residents who experienced flood damage to be able to apply for a low-interest loan for disaster recovery. Hanover Park has submitted to host a Disaster Loan Outreach Center and are hoping to receive an update from the SBA. More information will be posted on our website and social media soon. Hanover Park Poster ContestThe Village has launched a poster contest to celebrate America250. We are calling on artists of all ages to create a poster including your favorite places or things about Hanover Park, America's Global Village! You can pick up your kits at the Schaumburg District Library, Hanover Park Branch on Irving Park Road. Submit your artwork by August 21st! Artwork can be dropped off at Village Hall or the Library. We will announce the winners the first week of September and the artwork will be displayed at Village Hall and on our website!

Projects in Progress2026 Hydrant Painting Update: The Village’s contractor is scheduled to begin sandblasting, priming, and painting the fire hydrants on Lake Street and in the neighborhoods near Lake Street next week. Lake Street Multi-Use Path Update: The contractor finished pouring the concrete sections of the path. They also began landscaping restoration. Weather permitting, all concrete and asphalt work will be completed at the end of August. This project will include daily lane closures along Lake Street from Church Street/Metra Station to Turnberry Drive. Ontarioville Phase II Improvements: The Village’s contractor has started preliminary construction activities (brush clearing, placing silt fence, etc.) in preparation for full construction activities to start on the new gathering space across from the existing Ontarioville plaza. This new gathering area will include interactive features such as a fire place, a light-up swing and musical instruments.

Projects to Begin Soon2026 Arterial Fence Update: In the next few weeks, the Village’s contractor is scheduled to begin spot repairs and replacement of the Village’s arterial fence along portions of Irving Park Road and Barington Road. 2026 Pavement Patching Update: Due to the severe weather these last few weeks, the Village’s internal crew will complete the asphalt pavement patching within the next few weeks. County Farm Road Multi-Use Path Update: Path installation will resume once utility relocations take place. Non-Village ProjectsFiber Installation (Lumos/T-Mobile): Lumos/T-Mobile has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. These are not Village-run projects. Be Prepared for an Emergency: Learn CPR. Save a Life. In a cardiac emergency, every minute counts. CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. Protecting your family, your friends, and your community starts with being prepared. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training, which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim, and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
