St. Ansgar Mexican Independence Day Parade Route

Hanover Park, IL – On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the St. Ansgar Church will be holding a parade to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.  The parade will begin at 12:00 Noon from the St. Ansgar Church (see map for parade route).  In order to accommodate the parade route, the following roadways will be closed between 11:00 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m.

• Laurel Avenue between Center Avenue and Church Street
• Church Street between Laurel and Sycamore
• Sycamore Avenue between Church Street and Center Avenue
• Center Avenue between Sycamore Avenue and Laurel Avenue

There will be no parking allowed on the streets listed above between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Any vehicles parked on the above listed streets between these times will be relocated. NO PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED EXCEPT FOR HORSE TRAILERS ON EAST AVENUE BETWEEN NARCISSUS AND LAUREL OR ON THE NORTH SIDE OF LAUREL BETWEEN CENTER AND EAST DURING THIS TIME.

Those residents living “inside” the parade route may be temporarily inconvenienced due to some road closures and are encouraged to park their vehicles outside the parade route if they must cross any of the roadways listed above during the closure time.  Police Department personnel will be assigned along the parade route to assist with traffic control in the area and the closed roadways will be opened as quickly as possible upon conclusion of the parade in order to minimize the impact on residents.
