Hanover Park Trustees Sworn In

Hanover Park, IL- At the Village Board meeting of May 2, 2019, the Village of Hanover Park held a swearing in ceremony for three Village Trustees. Trustees James Kemper and Herb Porter were re-elected and the Village welcomed new Trustee Fanny López Benítez.

Trustee James Kemper

Trustees James Kemper was first elected as Village Trustee in 2011. This will be his third term as Village Trustee. Trustee Kemper has served as Chairman of the Village’s Finance Committee, as well as Board Liaison to the Sister Cities Committee, CERT team, and Citizens Corps Council. He has also been a member of the Village’s Cultural Inclusion & Diversity Committee.

Trustee Herb Porter

Trustee Herb Porter was elected in 2015. This will be his second term as Trustee. Trustee Porter has served as Chair of the Village’s Special Events Committee. He has also been Board Liaison to the CONECT Committee and Development Commission, and has been a member on the Sister Cities Committee. He also serves as a Board Member for CEDA and the Alignment for Collaborative Education.

Trustee Fanny López Benítez

Trustee Fanny López Benítez has lived in Hanover Park for three years with her husband and two children. She earned her Masters Degree from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, and is an advocate, organizer and educator for numerous grassroots and community-based organizations working with disadvantaged populations in the Chicagoland area.
