NWS Basic Weather Spotter Talk

The Hanover Park Emergency Management Agency and the Hanover Park Police Department are hosting a basic weather spotter class, as part of the StormReady program and as part of a Safe Communities initiative, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Room 214 at the Hanover Park Village Hall from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The talk will be conducted by the National Weather Service. 

This basic level course is designed to assist the participant in recognizing and identifying severe storms capable of producing damaging winds, tornadoes, heavy rain, and hail. Topics that will also be covered include procedures for reporting severe weather to appropriate agencies so warnings may be issued to the public. Anyone who has an interest in weather reporting including citizens from the Public (including students in 5th grade and up), Emergency Management, Fire, Police, Public Works, School Personnel, Bus Drivers, Amateur Radio Operators, Long Term Care Facilities, Plant Safety Personnel should plan on being there.
