By participating in the contest, your home or business will be placed on our Holiday Decorating Contest Tour Map so resident and visitors can experience your holiday cheer!
The Hanover Park Development Commission is a citizen commission that makes recommendations to the Village president and the board of trustees. The Commission utilizes the Village’s Comprehensive Plan recommendations to provide long-term policy direction. It conducts public hearings on all petitions for zoning variations, special uses, planned unit developments, rezonings (zoning map amendments), and text amendments. All meetings are open to the public.
The HeartSaver/AED course is designed to teach CPR, the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and what to do in the event of a choking emergency for victims of all ages. This course is designed for those that are expected to help in the event of an emergency in the workplace. This class is also highly recommended for new parents, babysitters, and anyone that wishes to help in the event of an emergency. This class follows the recommendations set by the American Heart Association.

Thinking of opening your own business? Not sure where to start? The Village of Hanover Park has collaborated with the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) to help. WBDC satellite office hours at the Village of Hanover Park will resume beginning November 9th at Village Hall. You can set a meeting with a WBDC member, at no cost, to discuss start-up and business expansion. Get help with business plans, sales projections, marketing, access to capital, expansion plans, structuring requests for financing, and more. The Economic Development Committee works to create an environment to attract and retain quality commercial and industrial business to the Village in order to encourage economic development, increase local sales and real estate revenues, create new employment opportunities, diversify the local economy, enhance the community's image, all of which will benefit Village residents.
Members provide valuable assistance in growth of economic development through creative strategies and feedback on business-related regulations. Our focus is to encourage business growth and economic development.
Local businesses are welcome to attend EDC meetings to learn about ongoing Village activities. Meeting are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in Room 214 of the Municipal Building. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and continue until the agenda is completed. Regularly scheduled meetings are the first and third Thursday of each month. All meetings are open to the public. Residents can address the Village Board with questions or concerns on issues not on the published agenda during the Townhall portion of the meeting. Residents who wish to address the Village Board during the Townhall Session must register with the Village Clerk prior to the start of the meeting. The Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee fosters and promotes understanding, mutual respect, cooperation, and positive relations between and among all residents of the Village by creating a sense of shared community among residents and affirming the value of each resident. As an advisory committee to the Village President and Board of Trustees, the goals of the Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee are to: Promote social harmony in the Village and to help deter through educational and action programs prejudice, discrimination, and intolerance, and Promote community involvement, partnerships, and initiates by conducting educational or informational programs to address the cultural diversity within the Village, and Identify cultural and social service needs of the residents of the Village and to work with existing entities to address these needs in the most meaningful way.
